Sahcabá is a small village within an underdeveloped region in the south of the country.
Children in this small village don't have access to teachers or educational programs to help them learn English or Arts.
One of our margi brothers in the area contacted us with a respected teacher and ex-mayor from the community who has a deep desire to bring new opportunities for the people of the village.
In June 2024, four volunteers, including Dada Viitashokananda and Didi Ananda Shanta made a first visit to the town of Sahcabá.
One week later, Dada and two margi volunteers did a kiirtana presentation in three schools of the community, including a kindergarden, a primary school, and a secondary school. After the presentation, the children expressed their interest and enthusiasm about learning music and English.
To instill in the children of the Sahcabá community the desire to learn and develop their skills in Art, Music and English, thus fostering intellectual and cultural growth that will allow them to open the doors to a promising future.
A 1-hour workshop will be held per group, considering students from 3rd to 6th grade (8 groups in total).
A 1.5-hour Art Workshop will be given per group from Monday to Thursday, to selected students divided into two groups (8-9 years old and 10-12 years old).
